Rogue Roasters: March Newsletter

As the sun returns and the flowers begin their blooming ascent, Rogue continues to provide our community with coffee, good company and a warm place to connect.

In the spirit of changing seasons, we exercised the creativity on our team to craft a Valentine’s Menu. We made the decision to offer a special menu for two weeks to see where our creativity could take us. As I tell customers, I’m usually not a big fan of matcha, but the Love You Matcha was a stand out on this menu (and it even won me over). Featuring flavors of pistachio and a white chocolate cold foam, the earthy nutty flavors combine to hint at the coming of Spring. Additionally, for the first time, we utilized a syrup made in-house. What was that syrup? Well, red velvet, of course. It resulted from necessity, our go-to syrup brand, the one we choose for their wide array of Organic options didn’t carry the flavor we desired. We didn’t let this deter us, and the XOXO Latte was born out of this commitment: red velvet cold foam, white chocolate syrup and espresso melted together.

Along with this menu, we are making efforts to increase our social media presence. Showcasing our team’s personality through silly videos has been a joy, and helps us to connect with those of you who cannot be around to visit us in person! Our first giveaway was a success as we encouraged our customers to follow us for the chance to win a free date to Rogue. Coffee, pastries and roses! What could be more fitting for Valentine’s Day?

Awaiting the return of Mexico, Guatemala and Brazil we began experimenting with one of our popular replacements: Peru. Notes of chocolate, vanilla and walnut dance on the taste buds–one of the lightest roasts we were carrying. Peru was also utilized as a French Roast, turning those lighter notes into a bolder, smokier taste. Rumor has it that our Peru French Roast was tasting even smoother than our Signature Blend, lovingly known as Smooth Suzee.

Our patience paid off as we saw the return of our beloved Mexico, Guatemala and Brazil. Coffee bean’s trip to the states can often take months. From harvest to your hands, the beans must be processed, sampled, shipped and roasted. The aforementioned beans are a return to some of our most popular beans and we’re looking forward to providing you with the familiar tastes you love! To celebrate their return, we want to offer a dollar off Espresso Yourself. The blend we use every day in our store to craft our drinks. Use #ESPRESSOYOURSELF on your next purchase of our preferred blend and understand for yourself why our regulars keep coming back, every day.

Return–our word of the month. Coffee, sunshine, flowers: the world around us awakening from its long rest. Energized, we’ll be finding new ways to replicate the playful spirit that Spring instills. Keep an eye out on our social media this month! Thanks for being here!
